EzChk EZCheck ECT Training Summary


Warranty Requirements: The following requirements must be met to ensure warranty.

Name – The checkwriter's name must be imprinted by the check manufacturer. No temporary checks.

Address – A physical address must be imprinted or written on the check, no P.O. Box.

Phone Number – A home or work number must be imprinted or written on the check including area code.

Date – The check date must match the date of the authorization, no pre or post-dated checks.

Payable – The check must be payable to the Merchant, no third-party checks.

Amount – The written words and figures must agree and match the amount authorized.

Signature – The signature must correspond to the name imprinted on the check and the ID presented.

Identification – The ID must reasonably correspond to the physical description of the check-writer.

Approval Code – The approval code must be recorded on the check.

Authorization Receipt – The check-writer must sign the authorization receipt retained by the merchant.

Checks Ineligible for Conversion:

Payroll Checks Temporary Checks Third-Party Checks
Non-USA Bank Checks Credit Card Convenience Checks Traveler's Checks

Check Limit:

The maximum amount EZCheck will guarantee per sale or transaction. No split sales. A Merchant may not split the sale among multiple payment authorizations to circumvent the established Check Limit.

Checks that cannot be guaranteed:

Stop Payment or Authorization Revoked, any transaction where there is a dispute over goods or services.
Any transaction for which the merchant has received full or partial payment.
Any transaction for which the merchandise has not been delivered, or has been returned to the merchant.

Receipt Storage:

Authorization receipts must be kept for two years. For merchants with imagers, images must be uploaded on a daily basis. For non-imaging merchants check-writer name, address and phone number must be recorded and stored as well.

Retrieval Request:

Should EZCheck require material proof of a transaction, the merchant must provide a copy of the signed authorization receipt. Additionally, for non-imaging merchants the check-writer’s name, address and phone number must be provided, along with any supporting sales invoices or documentation.
